Founded in 1956, the New England Clock Company made the cases and the movements in their Connecticut plants at first. In the 1960’s they began purchasing the movements abroad from Jauch and Hermle. This company was the offspring of the Forestville Manufacturing Company, the Sessions Clock Company, and the E N Welch Clock Companies.
Since colonial furniture was in at that time in 1956, the company settled on colonial clocks with the familiar floral decoration on the dials.
New England Clock Company headquarters was in Bristol, Conn., but the factory itself was moved three times until ending up in Farmington, Conn. in 1970. The company was a success. William Kenneth Sessions ran the company until his death in 1973 when his wife Phoebe W. Sessions took over the reigns. The business passed on to Phoebe’s son, David Sessions upon her death in 1983.
In 2000, The New England Clock Co. joined the rest of the American clock manufacturing plants and went out of business.
All New England mantle and wall clocks and movements are repaired at our national service center location. We receive shipments every day from around the world at our clock repair department. Please look at our shipping page for more details.
Many wall clocks are too large to easily transport, so we will make house calls for these. Since 1976, we have been in the clock repair business and have become one of the most respected clock restoration and repair companies in the northeastern United States.
Make an appointment today to repair your grandfather clock by emailing or calling us. If you don’t get an answer by phone, we may be out on a call, so please leave a message and we will get back to you.
